Exciting Addition to the Black Bear Men’s Hockey Team

The Black Bears men’s hockey team has recently added a new defenseman to their roster. Jack Dalton, formerly of the New Mexico Ice Wolves in the North Atlantic Hockey League, has joined the Maine team. Known for his impressive scoring abilities from the blue line, Dalton has quickly made an impact.

Expressing his enthusiasm to contribute positively to the team, Dalton stated, “I aim to provide some offensive contribution from the back end. I focus on my defensive duties and contribute offensively when possible.” As a freshman defenseman, his dedication and focus on both ends of the ice are highly valued by the team.

The team’s head coach, Ben Barr, has also praised Dalton’s performance, particularly acknowledging his calmness and composure during games. Despite limited practice with the team before being thrust into game action, Dalton has demonstrated an ability to adapt and make an impact on the ice. Barr commented, “I was impressed with the poise and composure that he played with the other night. He had only two or three practices before being thrust into a Hockey East game. I think he almost scored on his first shift. If he had been nervous, it would have been understandable, but he didn’t appear to be, so that was a good sign.”

In the coming weeks, Dalton and the Black Bears will face Northeastern and UMass in their Hockey East schedule. The match against the Huskies will be at 7 p.m. on NESN, while the game against the Minutemen will also be at 7 p.m. on Saturday, airing on ESPN+.

The addition of Jack Dalton to the Black Bears men’s hockey team has injected a new sense of vigour and skill into the group. As they continue through their Hockey East schedule, the team is eagerly anticipating the impact of Dalton’s presence on the ice.
