The Fordham women’s tennis team clinched their first victory of the spring season with a resounding 6-1 win over Marist College at the Cross Court Tennis Club in Wappingers Falls, N.Y. Despite Marist College claiming the doubles point by winning two of the three doubles matches, the Rams rallied to secure the win by dominating all six singles matches in straight sets.
Eleni Fasoula of Fordham emerged victorious in her match against Caterina Assi of Marist with a score of 6-4, 6-3, while Anlin Xie also contributed to the team’s success with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Vihana Shresta. Lorraine Bergmann, Julianne Nguyen, Sofie Siem, and Demi Jhaveri also clinched wins in their respective singles matches, showcasing the team’s stellar performance.
Looking ahead, the Rams are scheduled to face St. Bonaventure University on Saturday, February 10, in what promises to be an exciting match-up.
