LSU Men’s Tennis Dominates Double-Header Weekend

The LSU Men’s Tennis team (6-1) participated in a double-header last Sunday, February 4 at the LSU Tennis Complex. The Tigers first competed against Rice (4-3) at 12 p.m. CT. Following that match, LSU then faced Nicholls (1-2) at 4:45 p.m.

Against Rice, the Tigers commenced strongly by securing the doubles point. Stefan Latinovic and Aleksi Lofman joined forces to secure a victory against Yasha Zemel and Trinity Grear, while Welsh Hotard and George Stoupe demonstrated resilience and emerged victorious against Arthus de la Bassetiere and Eduardo Morias.

In singles, the Tigers emerged victorious, securing points on all but one court. Latinovic, Julien Penzlin, Chen Dong, Rudy Ceccon, and Stoupe all contributed to the team’s resounding 6-1 victory over Rice.

In their second match of the day against Nicholls, the Tigers continued their winning streak. They once again secured the doubles point, with Ben Koch and Hotard clinching a swift victory against Harry Collins and Kotaro Matsumura.

The singles matches also heavily favoured LSU, with Koch, Lofman, Hotard, Alessio Vasquez, and Ceccon all securing wins. The team exhibited impressive form and depth, demonstrating their skill and dominance on the court.
