Tiger Woods’ TGL League Update: Tommy Fleetwood Teased as Final Addition

The highly-anticipated Tiger Woods’ TGL League has encountered a setback, as the planned launch in January 2024 has been delayed due to the collapse of the building designated to host the virtual course. In spite of this, the league has continued to make announcements, with Tommy Fleetwood being teased as the potential fourth and final member of the Los Angeles Golf Club team.

The revelation of Fleetwood’s potential addition was unveiled on the team’s official Instagram account, where a photo was shared with his face concealed, triggering a range of responses from golf enthusiasts and social media users.

Reactions to the teaser have been diverse, with some taking a light-hearted approach to the team’s endeavor to conceal Fleetwood’s identity. Others have seized the opportunity to express their opinions about the TGL League as a whole.

Social media user Wayno voiced their doubts about the league’s future, stating “TGL will never see the light of the day.” Another user, Hasty, humorously speculated if golf veteran John Daly was making a comeback, while user Donald Byrne jokingly quipped, “Jesus, is that you?”

These reactions come as Tommy Fleetwood is poised to potentially join Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose, and Sahith Theegala to complete the Los Angeles Golf Club roster, becoming the second team to finalize their lineup after the Atlanta Drive Golf Club. However, Boston Common Golf recently suffered a setback as Tyrrell Hatton departed to LIV Golf.

As the league continues to unveil player announcements, the current status of the Tiger Woods’ TGL League remains uncertain following the postponement of its planned launch. While the six franchises have been identified, with 22 players committed out of the 24 needed to complete the rosters of the six teams, the future remains in a state of flux.

Prominent players such as Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, and Wyndham Clark are among those committed to the league, with Tiger Woods himself leading the list. The league had previously outlined a format called Modern Match Play and had intentions to produce the event as a live television show with an audience on set, alongside broadcasting on ESPN.

Despite the delay and uncertainty, the golfing world eagerly awaits the eventual launch of the TGL League and the exciting new chapter it aims to bring to the sport.
