Round One of Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational: WMU Women’s Golf Team Update

The Western Michigan University women’s golf team has recently completed the inaugural round of the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational at the Green Spring Golf Course. The afternoon presented its challenges, but the team delivered a solid performance.

Leading the pack was Alissa Fish, a graduate student hailing from Clarklake, Mich., who scored a commendable 78, placing her in a tie for 18th position with a score of +6. Following closely behind was Jenna Hayes, trailing by only one stroke. Natalie Samdal and Megha Vallabhaneni both posted scores of 82, while Kailey White rounded out the top five for WMU with a score of 89. Additionally, freshman Macy Beeson, competing as an individual, commenced the tournament with a score of 81.

Collectively, the Broncos combined their efforts to achieve a team score of 321, positioning them in seventh place overall. While not securing the top position, the team exhibited determination and prowess on the course.

The competition is far from over, however. The Broncos will return to the course on Monday, prepared to once again give their utmost. With their spirits high, they endeavor to ascend the leaderboard and exhibit their talent.

It is truly inspiring to witness the Broncos giving their all on the golf course, and we eagerly anticipate their performance in the upcoming rounds. Let us continue to offer our support as they proudly represent WMU.
