The Presbyterian Blue Hose tennis team encountered a challenging match against the Wofford Terriers, culminating in a 6-1 defeat for Presbyterian. Notwithstanding the loss, Lucianna Piedra demonstrated her prowess with a victory in the singles match and as part of a triumphant doubles team.

In the doubles matches, Wofford secured the doubles point with victories at the first and third doubles. However, Presbyterian’s Piedra and Madison Dennett clinched a 6-4 triumph over Wofford’s Emely Kahrs and Brianna Wilbur at the second doubles, showcasing their resilience and determination.

Transitioning to the singles matches, Wofford excelled by claiming five out of six singles matches, ultimately securing them the overall triumph. Despite this, Piedra distinguished herself with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Wofford’s Kahrs at the fourth singles, marking her third consecutive victory and displaying her unwavering talent on the court. Conversely, Presbyterian’s Mathilde Delaney battled fiercely in a three-set match at the third singles but unfortunately fell short with a 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-5) defeat.

Looking forward, Presbyterian is scheduled to compete against Tennessee State at the Templeton Tennis Courts on Sunday, February 18 at Noon. It presents another opportunity for the team to rebound and once again showcase their skills on the court.
