Plymouth Girls Hockey Team Gears Up for Playoffs with Strong Winning Streak

The Plymouth girls’ hockey team has been experiencing a series of victories in their final regular season games, showcasing a strong sense of confidence as they gear up for the playoffs. With a standing record of 8-8-3, the team’s recent four consecutive wins have propelled them to a state of high morale as they eagerly anticipate the announcement of the brackets for the Division 2 state tournament.

Head coach Mike McCosh has noted that the team is gradually coming together and showing improvement with each game. Players have been demonstrating better puck passing, increasing their shots, and scoring more goals, all of which reflect their growing confidence and preparedness for the impending playoffs. The team’s winning streak commenced with a triumph over Pembroke and a narrow loss to Hingham, both formidable teams on the South Shore, before securing consecutive victories against Barnstable, Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake, North Quincy, and once again, Barnstable.

Captain Megan Petrarca has emphasized the team’s significant shift from a sluggish start to winning more games, stressing the importance of playing without overthinking and focusing on the enjoyment of the game. Fellow captain Molly Roy has mentioned the time it took for the team to come together, particularly with new players, and how they have now grown more confident and are performing at a higher level as a result.

The team’s enhanced performance serves as a testament to their dedication, resilience, and ability to adapt and evolve as a unified unit. As they approach the playoffs, the Plymouth girls’ hockey team is poised to leave a strong impression and maintain their winning momentum.
