Muckhart Golf Club is pleased to announce its upcoming Easter Camps for young golf enthusiasts. These camps, led by PGA Professional Palmer Mitchell, will cater to two distinct groups – beginners and intermediates.
Mitchell elaborates that the beginner camp will encompass the fundamental aspects of putting, chipping, pitching, iron play, and driving in golf. Additionally, it will concentrate on the development of basic movement skills in children, such as running, skipping, jumping, throwing, balance, and coordination. The primary aim is to enhance the children’s athletic ability, which is not only crucial for excelling in golf but also advantageous for overall skill acquisition in physical activities.
Conversely, the intermediate group will delve deeply into the primary disciplines of golf, refining skills and engaging in on-course practice. Participants will receive guidance on course management and other strategies for optimizing performance during play.
With a maximum capacity of 15 slots for beginners and 9 for intermediates, the camps are accessible to children aged 7 to 16. The club eagerly anticipates the Junior Camps as they provide an opportunity for children to participate in outdoor activities during school holidays. Additionally, a substantial number of children who have attended the beginner camps have progressed to the intermediate level, signifying a clear pathway for the development of young golfers’ skills.
The Easter Camps are scheduled to take place on April 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11. The beginner group will convene from 11am to 1pm, followed by the intermediate group from 2pm to 4pm.
