A Busy Weekend for Greenock Wanderers: Women’s, Youth, and Reserve Teams Gear Up for Action

This weekend, the Greenock Wanderers 1st XV will be taking a break from the action on the field. However, the 2nd XV is all prepared for a friendly match against Helensburgh away. This friendly match presents an excellent opportunity for players who have had limited game time to showcase their skills.

The club has assembled a strong squad of 2nds and 3rds with substitutes, demonstrating the depth of talent within the team. With a squad of 50-60 players eager to take to the rugby field every week, the club is fortunate in terms of player availability.

Meanwhile, at Fort Matilda, the weekend’s schedule is brimming with exciting activities. The Wee Wandies will commence their session from 10am to 11am on Saturday, followed by P1-P3 Training at Clydeview Academy on Sunday.

In terms of matches, the Minis will be competing against GHA away at 11am. The U13s are prepared to face Kilmarnock at home, with a kick-off time of 12:15. At the same time, the U14s will also be playing at home, going head-to-head against Kilmarnock. The U14s Girls, on the other hand, have an away game against Oban, with the kick-off time yet to be confirmed.

Moving on to the older age groups, the U15s are slated for a home game, with a 2:30 pm kick-off against Marr. The U16s will be hosting Dumfries at 2:30 pm as well. And finally, the Women’s 1st XV will be heading to Corstorphine for their match, with a kick-off at 2:30 pm.

A special acknowledgment goes out to the club sponsors, MMSEARCH, and the Ladies sponsors, Straps of Gourock and Brow House Cosmetics, for their continued support.
