The Upcoming Path for Utah in the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament

Utah has been assigned the No. 6 seed in the forthcoming Pac-12 men’s basketball tournament, following a pair of road losses at the conclusion of the regular season. Their first-round game is scheduled for Wednesday night at 9:30 p.m. MT, where they will face the No. 11 seed, Arizona State, in a highly anticipated match.

In their regular-season finale against Oregon, Utah suffered a tough loss, compounded by the injury of team leader, Branden Carlson. It remains uncertain whether Carlson will be back in time for the tournament. Regardless of his return, Utah is eager for an opportunity to avenge their previous losses to Arizona State, who secured victories in both of their regular-season matchups and were one of the two teams to beat Utah in Salt Lake City this season.

Arizona State, however, will be without Jose Perez, who departed the team due to personal reasons, as confirmed by multiple reports. Perez had been a significant player for Arizona State, averaging 24.5 points per game in their wins over Utah, with a season-best of 26 points in their victory over the Utes in Tempe.
