Reds on Loan: Weekend Match Round-Up

Over the weekend, our players who are currently on loan with various clubs were in action, and here’s a summary of how they fared.

In the Sky Bet League Two, MK Dons secured a 3-1 victory over Salford City. Kyran Lofthouse scored an impressive goal from the edge of the area to equalise for the home side after the visitors took an early lead. Callum Styles made an appearance for Sunderland, replacing Dan Ballard in a match against Southampton. However, despite a goal from Jobe Bellingham, the Black Cats were unable to secure a win, ultimately losing 4-2 to Southampton.

In the Northern Premier League, Paul Cooper kept a clean sheet for his team, helping them to secure a 2-0 victory over Worksop Town. Joe Ackroyd played the full game for Buxton FC in their 3-0 win against Rushall Olympic, while Conor McCarthy started in the defence for Swindon Town, although they were defeated 3-2 by Mansfield Town in a closely contested match.

Jack Shepherd played the entire 90 minutes for Cheltenham Town in their match against Oxford United, which ended in a 2-1 defeat for the Robins. Andy Dallas also had a full game, featuring for Oldham Athletic in their 2-0 loss to Aldershot in the National League. Bradford Park Avenue suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Warrington Rylands, with Kieren Flavell starting in goal for the team.

Unfortunately, Kacper Lopata did not feature for Port Vale as they fell to a 2-1 defeat against Shrewsbury Town.

It is always positive to witness our players gaining valuable experience and making contributions to their loan clubs, despite the results not always going their way. We anticipate seeing how they continue to develop as the season progresses.
