New Captain at Local Golf Club

The Carrick Golf Club has appointed Paul Reid as its new captain, a familiar figure from his tenure as the former Director General of the Health Service Executive (HSE). His Captains’ Drive-In event was held last Saturday alongside Lady Captain, Anne Cox.

Paul Reid assumed the role of HSE Director General in 2019 and played a prominent role in the nation’s battle against the Covid-19 pandemic. After three years in the position, he stepped down in June 2022. He has now taken on the post of captain at the local golf club in Carrick-on-Shannon, where he is an active member.

Located along the N4 between Boyle and Carrick-on-Shannon, the golf club is renowned for its picturesque surroundings and engaged membership. Mr. Reid is highly regarded within the community, and he is actively involved in the operations of the club.
