Indiana Hockey Players Shine Even after High School Season

The hockey season at Indiana High School has concluded, however, the players are demonstrating their abilities on their club teams. The Indiana Chiefs achieved an exhilarating victory in the PAHL 18U Major playoff championship, triumphing over the Arctic Foxes in double overtime at Robert Morris University.

Despite trailing 1-0 after the first period, the Chiefs staged a late-game comeback when Ash Lockard scored to force overtime, with Andrew Kobak providing the assist. The game-winning goal was secured in the second overtime by Gabe Nettleton, once again with an assist from Kobak. Jayden Learn’s outstanding performance in goal, stopping 34 shots, solidified the victory for the Chiefs.

In addition to the accomplishments of the Indiana Chiefs, four players from Indiana County contributed to the MidState Mustangs’ success at the Pennsylvania State 14U AA Championship last weekend. The team’s upcoming challenge will be at the Nationals from April 3rd to the 7th in Amherst, New York. The talented players from Indiana County are Matthew Stone, Zdeno Dzuro, Brady Oakes, and Brooks Stormer.

The dedication and skill of these young athletes continue to highlight the strength of Indiana’s hockey community, extending beyond the high school season.
