Princeton Men’s Basketball to Open National Invitational Tournament Against UNLV at Home

The men’s basketball team from Princeton University, who are seeded 2nd, are scheduled to compete against UNLV in the opening round of the National Invitational Tournament (NIT) on March 20th at 8 p.m. ET at the Jadwin Gymnasium.

Supporters of Princeton men’s basketball, particularly season ticket holders, will receive priority ordering information on Sunday evening. Meanwhile, tickets for the general public will go on sale at noon on Monday. For those unable to attend in person, the game will be available for viewing on ESPN+.

This forthcoming tournament will mark the Tigers’ eighth appearance in the NIT, with their most recent occurrence taking place during the 2022 season. Notably, it will also be Coach Mitch Henderson’s third time leading the team to the NIT, having previously guided them in 2016 and 2022. The Tigers previously participated in the NIT in 1972, 1975, 1999, 2000, and 2002. A particularly memorable match against UNLV occurred in 1998, when the Tigers secured a remarkable victory during the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Princeton team exhibited a stellar performance during the 2023-24 season, achieving the Ivy League Regular Season Championship with an outstanding 24-4 record, which included a formidable 12-2 record in conference play.
