Excitement Builds for 2024 NCHC Frozen Faceoff in Saint Paul

With the NCHC Frozen Faceoff fast approaching, hockey enthusiasts are preparing for an action-packed weekend at Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This highly anticipated event, taking place on Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23, is set to feature thrilling matchups and a variety of fan activities.

The semifinal matchups have been confirmed, with fifth-seeded Omaha facing top-seeded North Dakota in the first contest at 4 p.m., and third-seeded St. Cloud State taking on second-seeded Denver in the night cap at 7:30 p.m. The winners of these games will advance to the championship game on Saturday, March 23, with puck drop set for 7:38 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center. Denver, the only team to have participated in all 10 Frozen Faceoffs in conference history, will be facing off against St. Cloud State, who needed three games to dispatch sixth-seeded and 14th-ranked Western Michigan in the NCHC Quarterfinals. Thursday will commence with team practices throughout the day, starting at 10:15 a.m. and concluding at 3 p.m. Those attending practices will have the opportunity to watch all of Thursday’s press conferences live for free on NCHC.tv.

The Conference will also host its annual NCHC Awards Celebration at the St. Paul Event Center on Thursday night, where individual award winners will be announced. Additionally, fan activities such as the NCHC Fan Skate and Fan Fest will provide entertainment for attendees before the hockey games each day.
