Men’s Tennis Team Secures Hard-Fought Victory Over King’s College

The men’s tennis team of DeSales University initiated their MAC Freedom campaign by securing a commendable 5-4 victory against King’s College on a Saturday afternoon in Center Valley, PA.

In the doubles matches, the Bulldogs promptly established a formidable advantage by winning all three matches. Senior Philip Ritchie, partnered with first-year Jatin Prabhakar, emerged triumphant in the No. 1 spot with a score of 8-3. Furthermore, senior Augie Citrone and sophomore Reece Stein secured an 8-7 victory in the second flight, while first-year Christopher Gomez and sophomore Nicholas Ofak triumphed 8-4 in the third spot.

Despite King’s College mounting a comeback in the singles matches and winning four out of six, the Bulldogs ultimately secured the victory. Ritchie played a pivotal role in the first flight, clinching a hard-fought win with a score of 6-4, 4-6, 6-1. Meanwhile, Prabhakar emerged victorious in the third flight with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Looking ahead, DSU’s men’s tennis team is set to face FDU-Florham in their next MAC Freedom match on Tuesday, scheduled to commence at 3:30 pm.
