Hey folks! Get ready for some exciting tennis action as the Pro Tennis League (PTL) gears up for its fifth edition. The auction for this thrilling event will feature top players like Mukund Sasikumar, Riya Bhatia, and Sahaja Yamalapalli. The auction will take place at the RK Khanna Tennis Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday. With a total of eight teams vying for 40 players, it’s going to be a nail-biting competition.

Let’s talk about the players who will be up for grabs. Mukund Sasikumar, with a career-high ATP singles ranking of 229, is definitely a force to be reckoned with. He has also achieved a career-high ATP doubles ranking of 431. Riya Bhatia, on the other hand, has made her mark with a career-high WTA ranking of 338 in singles and 387 in doubles. She has clinched three singles and three doubles titles at ITF Women’s Circuit tournaments. Sahaja Yamalapalli, with her highest rank of 380 in singles and 513 in doubles, is another talented player to watch out for.

Now, let’s talk about how the auction will work. The pattern for the auction will be decided through a draw of lots before the start. Each set of players will be exhausted first before moving on to the next set. The team members will have a virtual budget of 1,00,00,000 points to bid for the players. These values have been assigned to each player after extensive research by the PTL Sports Group.

The bidding process will start at the minimum bidding price for each player and can go up to the cap or ceiling price set by the league. However, no team will be allowed to exceed their budget. It’s all about strategy and making the most of the resources available.

Abhijeet Dangat, the Pro Tennis Business Development Head, expressed his excitement for the upcoming auction. He said, “As we gather for the players’ auction, we see more than just bids and numbers. We witness the spirit of determination, the thrill of potential, and the promise of greatness by these budding players. I would like to wish all the team owners the best of luck for the season and hope to see some thrilling and entertaining matches in the league.”

Now, let’s talk about the base prices for each category. The Men’s Pro and Women’s Pro categories have a base price of 10,00,000 points. The Next-Gen Men’s Pro and Next-Gen Women’s Pro categories have a base price of 5,00,000 points. It’s important for team owners to maintain a minimum balance after bidding for each player.

So, mark your calendars and get ready to witness some incredible tennis talent at the Pro Tennis League auction. It’s going to be a rollercoaster ride of emotions, fierce competition, and unforgettable moments. Don’t miss out on the action!
