Jamie Murray and Michael Venus have reached the final of the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships in Tokyo. After a tense semi-final clash, Murray and Venus emerged victorious with a 7-6(5), 2-6, 14/12 win over Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow. The American duo fought hard, saving four match points in the Match Tie-break, but Murray and Venus held their nerve to seal the one-hour, 45-minute triumph. In the championship match, they will face Rinky Hijikata and Max Purcell as they aim for their fifth ATP Tour crown of the year.
A win in the final would not only be a great achievement for Murray and Venus, but it would also enhance their chances of qualifying for the Nitto ATP Finals. With their victory, they have moved up to eighth place in the Pepperstone ATP Live Doubles Teams Rankings, surpassing Lammons and Withrow. They are now just 47 points away from seventh-placed Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury.
Meanwhile, in Antwerp, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Petros Tsitsipas secured their spot in their first ATP Tour final as a team. They saved two match points in the Match Tie-break to defeat Romain Arneodo and Sam Weissborn. The Greek brothers will now face Ariel Behar and Adam Pavlasek in the final.
In Stockholm, Yuki Bhambri and Julian Cash will take on Andrey Golubev and Denys Molchanov in the final. Bhambri and Cash overcame Tallon Griekspoor and Bart Stevens in a thrilling semi-final, while Golubev and Molchanov caused an upset by defeating fourth seeds Robert Galloway and Albano Olivetti.
