New Head Coach announced for Bay High School Boys Basketball Team

Bay High School in Panama City, Florida has announced the appointment of their new boys’ basketball head coach. Michael Memmen, the newly appointed coach, is returning to Bay County after serving as the head coach at Choctawhatchee for the past three seasons. Prior to his tenure at Choctawhatchee, Memmen spent a year as the head coach at Mosley, and before that, he held the position of head coach for a decade at Bozeman.

Memmen’s appointment follows the departure of Mike Duffie, who left Bay High School after a season that concluded with a 13-13 record. Duffie’s decision to leave was motivated by his desire to return to Georgia for family reasons.

The hiring of Coach Memmen was announced through an official email press release issued on Tuesday morning. In the release, Bay High School’s Athletic Director, Jamie Bukowski, expressed the institution’s enthusiasm in welcoming Memmen to lead the boys’ basketball program. Bukowski stated, “We are excited to have Coach Memmen on staff to lead our boys’ basketball program. He embodies everything we are trying to do here at Bay, and we are excited to see where he can take our program.”

For further information on this coaching transition, viewers were encouraged to tune in to Newschannel 7 at 5, 6, and 10 on Tuesday night, where additional details were set to be disclosed.
