Renowned and undisputed ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion Kade Ruotolo is preparing for his eagerly anticipated professional mixed martial arts debut, scheduled to take place in less than two months.
The 21-year-old BJJ prodigy, along with his brother Tye, the ONE welterweight submission grappling champion, has been considering the transition to MMA since joining ONE Championship in May 2022. Now, the moment has arrived.
Ruotolo is confident in his ability to succeed in this new venture, citing his innate love for physical confrontation, particularly in the form of getting hit. This unorthodox motivation fuels his determination. During a recent appearance on the Jaxxon Podcast, Ruotolo elaborated on his upcoming MMA debut and his mindset towards enduring blows in the face.
In his own words, the young American star stated, “I believe that’s why transitioning to MMA is more seamless for us than many jiu-jitsu practitioners. We’ve never shied away from physical contact. I actually enjoy it. The more forceful the impact, the more I crave it.”
Undoubtedly, Ruotolo will soon face the reality of being punched in the face as he enters the realm of MMA in June.
