Duke University has announced plans for significant upgrades to be made to Cameron Indoor Stadium in time for the 2024-25 basketball season. In collaboration with Daktronics and EwingCole architecture, the university aims to introduce a new and improved videoboard to the esteemed stadium.
As the forthcoming season will mark Jon Scheyer’s third year as head coach, Duke fans can anticipate a season rich in excitement. The team is expected to emerge as a strong contender for the national championship, particularly with the return of key players such as Tyrese Proctor and Caleb Foster, as well as new acquisitions from recruitment and transfers.
The new videoboard is poised to greatly enhance the game-day experience for fans through the provision of captivating videos and real-time statistics throughout the stadium. The three-display centerhung configuration will facilitate easier access for fans to view replays and remain updated with the latest game statistics.
Corey Williams, the Daktronics sales representative, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, deeming it an honour for the company to be involved with such a historic venue as Cameron Indoor Stadium. The new centerhung system will boast an impressive 900 square feet of digital canvas, more than double the previous total, thereby creating a visually stunning experience for fans.
Furthermore, the enhanced videoboard is merely one aspect of the improvements Duke fans can anticipate. The addition of four new corner ribbon displays, LED scorers tables, and press table displays along the sides of Coach K Court will also introduce additional statistics, graphics, and sponsorship opportunities for brand exposure during every event held at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
These new developments are anticipated to elevate the overall atmosphere and experience for Duke basketball fans. The excitement is mounting as the 2024-25 season draws nearer. The enhancements to Cameron Indoor Stadium hold the promise of improving the game-day presentation, providing an enriched and immersive experience for all attendees.
