New Coaches Announced for Bentonville West Girls Basketball and Volleyball Teams

The recent special school board meeting at Bentonville West unveiled exciting news as the school announced the appointment of new head coaches for the girls’ basketball and volleyball teams.

The newly appointed girls’ basketball coach is thirty-year-old Ryan Johnson, succeeding Dion Hargrove, who previously held the position for three years. Johnson brings an impressive coaching record from his time at Valley Springs and has expressed his enthusiasm for leading a relatively new basketball program. He is confident in the potential for success and looks forward to the challenge of competing in one of the best conferences in girls’ basketball.

During his coaching tenure at Valley Springs, Johnson’s team achieved a notable 145-52 record overall and a 27-11 mark in postseason play. His dedication and proven success make him a promising addition to the Bentonville West coaching staff. The school’s athletic director, Kevin Downing, commended Johnson for his organization, hard work, and comprehensive approach to the game at all levels.

In addition to the new basketball coach, Bentonville West also welcomed Britney Davis as the new head volleyball coach. Davis, who previously led the Gravette volleyball team, brings with her a stellar coaching career, including a 23-3 overall record and a perfect 9-0 conference play at Class 4A-Northwest. Her leadership propelled the Gravette team to regular-season and conference tournament titles, as well as a spot in the Class 4A state semifinals.

Both coaches have expressed their gratitude for the opportunities and are eager to commence their new roles. Johnson looks forward to building on the existing foundation, while Davis aims to make the Bentonville West volleyball program one of the most competitive in the state.

The addition of these two talented and experienced coaches is sure to bring a renewed sense of energy and competitiveness to the Bentonville West girls’ basketball and volleyball teams. It is clear that the school is focused on promoting excellence in its athletic programs, and the future looks bright under the leadership of Johnson and Davis.
