How to Rock Vuori’s Tennis Skirt & Dress for Everyday Wear

The recent emergence of the tenniscore trend in the fashion industry has been highly notable, with its presence in recent entertainment pieces such as “Apples Never Fall” and “Challengers,” as well as in pop culture references such as Zendaya’s tennis-themed press tour looks. However, styling this preppy-sporty trend may pose a challenge, particularly for those who do not actively participate in tennis. Nevertheless, the activewear trend proves to be more accessible and wearable than initially perceived. As a non-sports enthusiast myself, I was intrigued by the idea of incorporating tenniswear into my wardrobe, yet I was apprehensive about appearing ostentatious. Thus, when presented with the opportunity to review pieces from Vuori’s Court Collection, I eagerly seized the chance to explore the tenniscore trend further.

Renowned for its production of activewear exuding a coastal Californian essence, known for being rugged yet enduring, Vuori has managed to captivate my interest with its workout leggings. Thus, I was keen to sample additional items from the brand, particularly their tennis skirt and tennis dress. With the impending Summer Olympics and the projected surge of “elevated athleisure” in Fall 2024, I deemed it fitting to incorporate tenniscore aesthetics into my attire.

Commencing with the Vuori Volley Skirt, I found this summer skort to be the ideal discovery for my wardrobe. Crafted from a “peachy” polyester-elastane blend BreatheInterlock fabric, the skirt possesses moisture-wicking properties and is lightweight, rendering it ideal for sweltering summer days and rigorous workouts. Additionally, the inclusion of concealed mesh shorts, accompanied by a convenient tennis ball pocket, offers comfortable coverage. I selected a charming periwinkle shade for my skort, although neutrally toned options are also available.

I paired the skort with Vuori’s new blue quartz AllTheFeels Tank and their popular white ribbed Pose Fitted Tee. To complete the ensemble, I incorporated casual and vibrant accessories, comprising friendship and charm bracelets, a beaded necklace, a faded baseball cap, a violet gym bag, and three-quarter ruffle socks teamed with platform sneakers for a leisurely outing to the park.

Transitioning to the Vuori One Shot Tennis Dress, this apparel embodies a refined and understated style, devoid of overt polo collars and pleated skirts. Fabricated from BreatheInterlock material and featuring hidden shorts, the dress also integrates a lined shelf bra to provide additional support and coverage.

To elevate the tennis dress for an athleisure-inspired look, I combined it with pristine white sports sleeves and trendy gingham Nike Cortez sneakers. I further accentuated the attire with eye-catching, statement jewellery, including pearl drop earrings, an asymmetrical beaded necklace, and a shimmering belly chain, as well as crystal-embellished white sunglasses and a lustrous blue top-handle bag to unify the entire ensemble.

By integrating the Vuori tennis skirt and dress into my everyday attire, I sensed an air of chic and sophistication, without appearing contrived or incongruous. Undoubtedly, the tenniscore trend presents an opportunity for incorporation into one’s wardrobe, irrespective of individual athletic prowess.
