The IRFU Charitable Trust, in collaboration with Pinergy, Connacht Rugby, Galway Bay Golf Resort, and Galway Bay FM, is delighted to announce the forthcoming IRFU Charitable Trust Connacht Golf Outing. This philanthropic event aims to raise funds in aid of seriously injured rugby players and their families. The inaugural Charity Golf Outing will take place at the picturesque Galway Bay Golf Resort on Monday, 29th July 2024.
Pinergy, the primary sponsor, has been a steadfast supporter of the Charitable Trust and also sponsors the Munster and Leinster Charity Golf Outings. With their long-term commitment, Pinergy continues to make a significant impact in the lives of those in need.
Since its inception in 1978, the IRFU Charitable Trust has provided vital support to seriously injured rugby players and their families. This includes assistance with medical care, wheelchairs, physical therapy, education, transport, home alterations, and emotional support during challenging times.
Galway Bay FM, the official media partner of Connacht Rugby, played a pivotal role in promoting the event on radio and across various platforms. A special feature on the launch was broadcast as part of Saturday Sport, presented by John Mulligan. The Connacht Hospitality Group, another official partner to Connacht Rugby, has generously pledged their support for the Charity Golf Outing.
The Galway Bay Golf Resort, part of the Connacht Hospitality Group, will serve as the official course partner for this meaningful event. Scheduled to coincide with the commencement of the Galway Races, the Connacht Charity Golf Outing will welcome 24 teams of four, with all proceeds going towards the welfare of seriously injured players and their families.
