The 2023-24 season is looking promising for the Golden Eagles. Despite having only five returning players from last year’s team, coach Pelphrey and his coaching staff have brought in a talented group of 11 newcomers. This infusion of fresh talent has elevated the program to new heights.

It took some time for the team to gel and find their rhythm, but once OVC play started, the Golden Eagles were unstoppable. They won five consecutive games and finished the season with an impressive 11-7 conference record. This secured them a second-place finish in the regular season standings, the best the program has seen since 2004-05.

The Golden Eagles entered the OVC Tournament as the No. 2 seed, their highest position since winning the regular-season crown in 2004-05. They also earned an automatic berth to the semifinals, marking their 20th appearance in the final four of the OVC’s postseason event. It was an incredible achievement!

Looking ahead to the 2023-24 season, the Golden Eagles have added 10 new players to their roster. Alongside the returning players like Harvey, Wood, Slatten, Strong, Oliver, Zimonjic, and Beya, the team now boasts a talented group of newcomers.

Players like Brandon Brown, Nick Choate, David Craig, Josiah Davis, David Early, Daniel Egbuniwe, Rodney Johnson Jr., Kyle Layton, Rylee Samons, and DeSean Woods are ready to make their mark on the court. It’s an exciting time for Tennessee Tech basketball!

So mark your calendars for Thursday night’s exhibition game and join us for a night of basketball and Halloween fun. The Purple Palooza event is free and open to the public, so bring your friends and family. And don’t forget to grab some candy while you’re there!
