Kansas State Basketball in the Running for Top 2024 Big Man

Kansas State basketball coach Jerome Tang is on the hunt for an elite big man, and he’s one step closer to finding one. Five-star prospect Patrick Ngongba has named the Wildcats as one of three finalists, alongside basketball powerhouses Duke and Kentucky. Ngongba, a 6-foot-10 senior from Paul VI High School in Virginia, will be visiting K-State this weekend before making his decision on November 4. This is the Wildcats’ chance to make their case and secure a talented addition to their roster.

Tang has made it clear that he believes size is crucial in building a successful team. He wants to recruit big men with NBA aspirations to strengthen the Wildcats’ frontcourt. Last season, K-State was outrebounded in their NCAA Elite Eight loss, and Tang is determined to address this issue.

To attract top-tier big men like Ngongba, Tang has implemented a new offensive system that mirrors the style of play in the NBA. By adopting a five-out system, the Wildcats aim to showcase their ability to develop players with NBA potential.

K-State has already secured a commitment from guard David Castillo for the Class of 2024. Castillo, hailing from Bartlesville, Oklahoma, will be playing his senior season at Sunrise Academy near Wichita.

With the Wildcats in the running for Ngongba, the future of Kansas State basketball is looking bright. Tang’s pursuit of an elite big man could pay off, and fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement on November 4. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting recruitment battle!
