The Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team commenced their European tour with an impressive 2-0 triumph against the Netherlands’ Bredase Hockey Vereniging Push in Breda, Netherlands. Under the leadership of Hina Bano and Kanika Siwach, the team exhibited outstanding performance to secure the victory.
The match began with both teams creating opportunities through penalty corners, yet the first quarter concluded without any goals. Despite India’s determination to take the lead, they were unable to score in the second quarter. The situation persisted as they struggled to convert their penalty corners.
It wasn’t until the third quarter that the deadlock was finally broken, with Hina Bano scoring a crucial goal for India from a penalty corner. The Netherlands’ club made valiant efforts to equalize, but their inability to convert their penalty corners kept them trailing.
In the final quarter, the Indian team clinched their victory when Kanika Siwach scored, doubling India’s lead. The Indian defensive unit successfully maintained a clean sheet in the final minutes of the match, securing the win.
The next match for the Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team will be against Belgium in Breda, Netherlands on 22nd May.
