Barrow FC Announce Managerial Departure After Season Review

Barrow Football Club has formally announced its decision to part ways with manager Pete Wild in the aftermath of a post-season evaluation of their performance in the 2023-24 League Two season. The separation stems from the Bluebirds narrowly missing out on a play-off spot, finishing in eighth place, and enduring a series of seven winless games, with five losses, towards the end of the season.

Pete Wild, who joined Barrow in 2022 on a three-year contract after managing Halifax in the National League, was unable to reconcile his vision for the club with that of the management following the completion of the season’s review. As a result, both parties agreed that parting ways was the most appropriate course of action. The club issued a statement expressing good wishes for Wild’s future endeavors while confirming the retention of all other members of the management team.

Earlier in the season, Wild had guided Barrow to an impressive seven consecutive wins in all competitions during October and November, propelling the team into a strong position as they vied for a place in the play-offs. However, despite being in fifth place after a victory against Grimsby in March, Barrow’s form declined in the final stretch, leading them to miss out on a top seven finish and the chance for promotion, ultimately losing their spot to Crawley Town, who secured the promotion.

The club’s decision to part ways with Wild marks the end of an era that held promise for a potential playoff berth but regrettably fell short in the closing stages. Barrow FC will now commence the process of searching for a new manager who can steer the team towards achieving their ambitions in the upcoming seasons.
