The Utah Utes have successfully secured the commitment of Mike Sharavjamts to join their team under the guidance of Craig Smith following his entry into the transfer portal. This development was disclosed by ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.
Sharavjamts began his college basketball career at Dayton in the A10 conference, where he started 20 out of 32 games and maintained averages of 5.6 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.9 rebounds. The 6’8 guard then transferred to San Francisco, where he started all 34 games for the Dons and demonstrated an improvement in his performance, averaging 7.7 points, 2.7 assists, and 3.0 rebounds. Notably, he also achieved a commendable 36% shooting accuracy from the three-point line.
Despite initially considering other potential destinations that did not include Utah, Sharavjamts ultimately chose to join the Utes as they transition into the competitive Big 12 conference.
With his impressive physical attributes and shooting range, Sharavjamts possesses the capability to play in multiple positions, providing the Utes with a valuable and adaptable option as they prepare for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Sharavjamts is the most recent addition to coach Smith’s recruitment endeavors, joining five other transfers including Ezra Ausar (East Carolina), Mason Madsen (Boston College), Miro Little (Baylor), Keanu Dawes (Rice), and Zach Keller (Wake Forest). The team still has three scholarships available, indicating that further additions to the roster could be on the horizon as they build towards the upcoming season.
The addition of Mike Sharavjamts significantly enhances the prospects of the Utah Utes, and fans eagerly anticipate witnessing his contributions as part of the team’s evolving lineup in the Big 12.
