Cardiff Rugby Club has been delighted to announce the successful acquisition of centre Rory Jennings from Newcastle. This exciting development follows Jennings’ one-season stint with the Falcons after moving from London Irish. Jennings, 28, now joins former Newcastle wing Iwan Stephens in committing to Cardiff.
Jennings expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Joining Cardiff is a truly exciting prospect for me. It is a club with ambitions to progress and compete in the United Rugby Championship. It is important to note that Jennings is a versatile player who can also play in the fly-half position. However, Cardiff has also secured Callum Sheedy for the 2024-25 season to compete with Tinus de Beer for the number 10 shirt.
The head coach of Cardiff, Matt Sherratt, expressed his admiration for the newly signed player, stating, “Rory is a player I have admired for a considerable period of time. He possesses an attacking mindset and embodies the Cardiff game model as an inside centre with a three-fold threat in terms of his running, kicking, and passing abilities.”
