The law enforcement authorities in El Paso are currently searching for an individual who invaded a basketball court and physically assaulted a 14-year-old player during a dispute at a youth league game. This disturbing incident occurred on May 16 and was reported to the police on June 18. An official “Crime Alert” regarding this matter has been released by Crime Stoppers of El Paso earlier this week.
According to reports, the altercation took place at the Champions Factory sports complex on Market Ave., near Hawkins Boulevard. The altercation, which was captured on video, involved a man rushing onto the court and forcefully tackling one of the young players. As a result, the victim sustained an unspecified injury. Additionally, the situation escalated as approximately 10 adults became involved.
A 54-second video, shared by Crime Stoppers, depicts the man with a shaved head and ripped light-blue T-shirt being removed from the basketball court by three men. The authorities are seeking to question this individual in connection with the incident. The case is under investigation by detectives from the Mission Valley Regional Command Center.
Sergeant Javier Sambrano, the Crime Stoppers liaison, emphasized the urgency of the detectives’ need to identify the individual in the video and collect information about the unfortunate incident. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant details to come forward.
