The Rugby Football League (RFL) has recently announced the three potential teams vying for a spot in the Betfred League One competition for the 2025 season. Bedford Tigers, who play in the Southern Conference League and have recently participated in the Challenge Cup for the first time in 2019, also present an exciting opportunity for the league. The inclusion of Bedford Tigers would introduce a new market to the competition and diversify the geographical representation of the teams.
Finally, Goole Vikings, based in the Yorkshire Men’s League, are situated between Castleford and Hull, bringing with them a rich history in the sport. Despite being formed recently in 2018, the town has a significant rugby league heritage, including a historic victory over Leeds in 1893.
