As the third seed and ranked 47th in the world, Kalinina secured her place in the second round by defeating Czech player Sara Bejlek, who holds a ranking of 126th. The match was a rigorous three-hour contest, culminating in Kalinina emerging triumphant with a score of 7:5, 6:7 (9:11), 6:2.
Kalinina’s next opponent will be French player Elsa Jacquemot, who is ranked 145th, as she vies for a position in the quarterfinals. Jacquemot achieved victory in her match against Spanish player Jessica Buzas Maneiro, with a score of 6-3, 6-4.
