A car-motorcycle collision in Florence during the night has resulted in one death and two serious injuries. The incident occurred around 2 am at the intersection of Gioberti Street and Ghirlandaio Street. The car flipped over, and the driver, a 43-year-old, unfortunately lost his life. Firefighters used lifting cushions to extract the trapped driver, but medical personnel from the emergency services confirmed his death. Two individuals on the motorcycle were rescued and taken to the Careggi Hospital emergency room. A 24-year-old is in critical condition, while another, believed to be 43 years old, is in serious condition. The police are investigating the cause and details of the accident. According to the municipal police, the motorcycle, a stolen BMW, was traveling at high speed in the wrong direction on Gioberti Street when it collided with the car, a Fiat Panda, killing the driver. The impact was severe, causing the Fiat Panda to flip over, resulting in the immediate death of the 44-year-old driver from Florence. Three people were on the motorcycle, two of whom were foreigners. One of them is a minor. The two seriously injured individuals are under police guard at the hospital, where they will also undergo alcohol and drug tests. The third accomplice managed to escape.
