Kansas Basketball Takes Down Final Four Banner After NCAA Infractions Case

Hey there basketball fans! Big news from Kansas! The 2018 Final Four banner has been taken down by the Jayhawks. Why, you ask? Well, it turns out there was an NCAA infractions case that recently got resolved, and as a result, Kansas had to vacate 15 wins from the 2017-18 season. That includes their amazing run to the Final Four in 2018. So, now the banner is being kept in storage at Allen Fieldhouse. Bummer, right?

But hey, Kansas fans, don’t be too down. There’s still hope for another banner this season! The Jayhawks are actually the preseason number one team in the nation. That’s right, they’re the team to beat. And let me tell you, they’ve got some seriously talented players on their roster. We’re talking about senior center Hunter Dickinson, graduate senior guard Kevin McCullar Jr., and redshirt senior guard Dajuan Harris Jr. These guys have earned some serious recognition in the preseason All-Big 12 Conference. And let’s not forget about junior forward KJ Adams Jr., who earned that recognition last season and could do it again this year.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. Will the Jayhawks have enough depth to make it all the way? That’s a valid question. But one thing’s for sure, this team is not lacking in star power. They’ve got some serious talent that can take them far.

So, let’s keep our fingers crossed and see what the 2023-24 season has in store for Kansas basketball. Maybe we’ll see another banner hanging proudly in Allen Fieldhouse. Until then, let’s cheer on the Jayhawks and hope for the best!
