ODU Men’s Tennis Takes on Virginia Tech in Halloween Invitational

Hey tennis fans! The Old Dominion men’s tennis team is gearing up for an exciting weekend at the Virginia Tech Halloween Tournament. From Friday to Sunday, the Monarchs will be competing at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg. Joining them in the tournament are East Tennessee State, Elon, and of course, the host team, Virginia Tech.

The action kicks off on Friday at 10:30 a.m. when ODU faces off against Virginia Tech. On Saturday, they will take on Elon at 2 p.m., followed by a match against East Tennessee State on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Coach Dominik Mueller is thrilled about this opportunity for his team. He believes that playing a hidden dual at the end of the fall semester is a great way for the new players to experience what a dual match looks like in the Spring. It’s like a test-run for the players in a team format. The competition at this tournament will be tough, with Virginia Tech, East Tennessee State, and Elon all being strong teams. But the Monarchs are ready for the challenge and are looking forward to a competitive and challenging weekend.

The Monarchs are coming off a strong performance at the ITA Atlantic Regionals. Jakob Cadonau and Cosme Rolland De Ravel won the doubles title, earning them a spot in the ITA Fall National Championships in San Diego, California from November 1st to 5th.

So, mark your calendars and come support the ODU men’s tennis team as they take on some top-notch competition at the Virginia Tech Halloween Tournament. It’s going to be a weekend filled with thrilling matches and impressive displays of skill. Go Monarchs!
