St.Helens Town AFC and St.Helens R.F.C. are teaming up to bring you a fantastic event called the ‘St.Helens Festival of Football’. It’s going to be held at the Totally Wicked Stadium on the evening of Friday 27th October 2023. This event is part of St.Helens Borough’s year as the Liverpool City Region Borough of Culture, and it’s also a special year for Saints and England star Mark Percival as it’s his testimonial year.
If you’re planning to attend, I highly recommend getting your tickets in advance. This will save you from any long queues or delays at the turnstiles. But don’t worry, if you prefer to pay on the gate, you can do so using contactless card payment only.
Now, let’s talk about the ticket prices. You can get a family ticket for just £10, which includes 2 adults and a maximum of 2 children. So, what can you expect at the ‘St.Helens Festival of Football’? Well, first up, there will be a Cheshire Football League fixture between St.Helens Town AFC and Wigan Town FC. It’s going to be an official match, so you won’t want to miss it. After that, there will be an exhibition match between a St.Helens Town XI and a Saints XI. It’s going to be a thrilling game, and you’ll get to see some amazing players in action.
But that’s not all! Throughout the evening, there will be small-sided games featuring junior teams from clubs around the borough. It’s going to be a great opportunity to see the future stars of football showcase their skills.
Now, let me give you a sneak peek of some of the players who will be taking part in the exhibition match. We’ve also got Kev Brown, a World Cup Finalist with England RL, and Mark Flanagan, a Grand Final winner with Saints. And that’s not all, we’ve got George Riley, a sports broadcaster, and Bernard Thresher, the singer from The Lancashire Hotpots. Plus, there are more players to be announced, so stay tuned!
