Hey everyone! I’ve got some exciting news to share with you today. A wonderful woman from Bury, Jacqui McCarthy, is organizing a charity football match to support a cause that is very close to her family’s heart. Her dad, Derek, was diagnosed with bladder cancer two years ago, and the amazing charity, Macmillan Cancer Support, has been there for him every step of the way. Now, Jacqui wants to give back and raise as much money as she can to support the incredible work of this charity.
Jacqui is no stranger to fundraising. In fact, she recently took part in a charity skydive and raised close to £1,200 for Macmillan Cancer Support. How incredible is that? But she’s not stopping there. She’s now organizing a charity football match that is going to be a blast!
The match will take place at Bacup FC and will feature a special team called the Jet2 TV All Stars. This team is made up of actors from popular TV shows like Hollyoaks, Coronation Street, and Emmerdale. How cool is that? It’s going to be a star-studded event!
But it’s not just about the football. Jacqui wants to make this a fun family day out. She’s planning to have bouncy castles for the kids to enjoy, and she’s even secured some amazing raffle prizes from Manchester United and Manchester City football clubs. Talk about impressive!
When asked where he wanted the money to go, Derek, Jacqui’s dad, said he wanted it to go to Macmillan Cancer Support because they have been there for him and his wife throughout their cancer journey. And Jacqui couldn’t agree more. She wants every little bit of money raised to go towards buying something for someone with cancer. Every little bit helps!
The event is happening on Sunday, 12th May 2024 at Bacup FC. It’s going to be a day filled with fun, laughter, and most importantly, support for a fantastic cause. So mark your calendars and get ready to cheer on The Phoenix as they take on the Jet2 TV All Stars. It’s going to be a match to remember!
If you want more information about the event, you can contact Jacqui on 07572 938750. Let’s come together as a community and show our support for Macmillan Cancer Support. See you there!
