So, here’s the deal. Bates College had to make some adjustments to their weekend schedules because of the recent shootings in Lewiston. The Bates field hockey team was all set to take on Bowdoin in the conference quarterfinals on Saturday, but now they’re playing on Tuesday instead. Bummer, right? But hey, at least they still get to play. The other field hockey quarterfinals are still happening on Saturday, just without any Maine teams. So, it’s game on for them. Now, let’s talk football. The Bates football team was supposed to go head-to-head with Williams on Saturday, but that game got moved to November 18th. And get this, the NESCAC season will end the week before for all the other teams. Talk about a shake-up! Oh, and the Bates volleyball team had their final regular season matches cancelled. That’s a real bummer. But don’t worry, the NESCAC has decided to change things up and include all 11 teams in the conference championships. So, Bates still has a shot. The volleyball tournament kicks off on November 3rd, and it’s going to be a wild ride. Now, let’s switch gears and talk about junior hockey. The Twin City Thunder’s games against the Junior Bruins got postponed, and there’s no word yet on when they’ll be rescheduled. And the Maine Nordiques’ game in Philadelphia didn’t happen either. They’re still trying to figure out if they’ll make the trip and play in a few days. So, there you have it. Lots of changes to the schedules, but everyone’s doing their best to make it work. Stay tuned for more updates!
