BMW Motorrad has given its sporty road trail a little facelift. An optimized 4-cylinder engine, new ergonomics, and a more extensive standard equipment are now available for the new BMW S 1000 XR.
The sporty road trail from BMW has undergone a little rejuvenation, starting with a revised and improved engine. The inline 4-cylinder engine now offers a power output of 170 hp with optimized intake. The new BMW S 1000 XR still shares its engine with the BMW S 1000 RR. Compared to the previous model, the engine power has been increased by 5 hp at the same engine speed of 11,000 rpm. The maximum torque of 114 Nm at 9,250 rpm remains unchanged.
New Ergonomics
To provide even more freedom of movement, especially during dynamic riding on the road or track, the seat has been completely redesigned. It now offers an additional height of 10 mm and more space. In total, three different seat heights are available. The new BMW S 1000 XR also benefits from redesigned design elements. The rear loop now features new fairings and air intakes inspired by motorsport for a more dynamic look. The side fairings now have a textured surface, while the previously black beak-shaped mudguard is now body-colored.
Expanded Range of Standard Equipment
The new BMW S 1000 XR comes with a more extensive standard equipment. The Headlight Pro provides additional safety with its adaptive cornering light. Daytime running lights (DRL) are also present for better visibility of the motorcycle during the day. The Keyless Ride system, a 12 Ah battery, and a USB charging port are now integral parts of the standard equipment. Other updates include the option to equip the motorcycle with the M GPS Laptrigger and M Carbon wheels. It is available in three colors: Metallic Blackstorm, Metallic Gravity Blue, and Lightwhite/Motorsport (in combination with the M Pack and M seat).
To sum up, BMW Motorrad has given its sporty road trail a little facelift. An optimized 4-cylinder engine, new ergonomics, and a more extensive standard equipment are now available for the new BMW S 1000 XR.
