India, a 34-year-old golfer from the University of Iowa, has been banned for six months, while 26-year-old Staiano has been suspended for three months. These suspensions come as a result of the players violating the PGA Tour Integrity Program, which aims to prevent betting-related corruption in professional golf events. Although the bets were not placed on the tournaments they were competing in, the PGA Tour takes a strong stance against any form of betting on golf events. India, who has been playing on the Korn Ferry Tour since 2019, has earned over $500,000 in his career. Despite not achieving a top-10 finish this season, he has shown promise in previous years. Staiano, on the other hand, has yet to play on the PGA Tour but has made a name for himself on the Korn Ferry Tour with one top-25 finish. The PGA Tour’s Integrity Program strictly prohibits any form of betting on professional golf events, and the consequences for breaking this rule are severe. India and Staiano have both admitted to their wrongdoing and will now have to face the consequences of their actions. The PGA Tour has not provided any further comments on the suspensions at this time.
