Hey everyone! The Santa Clara women’s basketball team kicked off the 2023-24 season with a bang, defeating CSU Monterey Bay 82-38 in an exhibition game at Leavey Center. Right from the start, the Broncos took control and maintained a double-digit lead throughout the game. It was a fantastic team effort, with ten Broncos getting playing time and eight of them scoring at least one field goal. Four players even reached double figures in scoring! Talk about an impressive performance!
But it wasn’t just about scoring. The Broncos also dominated on the boards, with two players recording double-digit rebounds and one of them even achieving a double-double. And let’s not forget about the incredible passing game. Santa Clara dished out a total of 24 assists, with two players contributing six each and another player adding five. That’s some serious teamwork!
Shooting-wise, the Broncos were on fire. They shot an impressive 55.2% from the field and an impressive 45.0% from beyond the arc. Their shooting accuracy was definitely on point!
Defensively, Santa Clara was relentless. They forced a total of 18 turnovers and came away with seven steals. Their defensive pressure was simply outstanding!
Overall, it was a fantastic exhibition game for the Santa Clara women’s basketball team. They showcased their skills, teamwork, and determination. The regular season is just around the corner, and with a performance like this, they are definitely ready to take on any challenge that comes their way!
