High School Field Hockey Final: Carroll vs Bonner-Prendie

Hey there! So, let me tell you about this epic field hockey match between Archbishop Carroll and Benjamin Rush High. It was a District 12 Class 2A semifinal game, and boy, did Carroll dominate! They totally crushed Benjamin Rush with a whopping 17-0 score. Can you believe it? Laura Wineburg and Sienna Golden were on fire, scoring four goals each. And let’s not forget about Morgan Wood and Kate O’Neill, who scored three goals each. Talk about a powerhouse team!

But the action doesn’t stop there. Carroll’s Claire Sexton, Lucy Sedgwick, and Maggie O’Neill were the ultimate team players, each providing two assists. Now, Carroll is all set to face off against Bonner & Prendergast in the 2A title match. Bonner & Prendergast also had a great win against Franklin Towne Charter in the semifinal. It’s going to be an intense battle!

Now, let’s switch gears to the Inter-Ac league. The Academy of Notre Dame had an exciting game against Springside Chestnut Hill. In the fourth quarter, Carina Demchyk and Abby Sims scored some clutch goals, leading Notre Dame to victory. Saylor Milone and Reese Czajkowski also contributed with goals earlier in the game. The Irish goalkeepers, Mia McCloskey and Alex Duff, did an amazing job with three saves between them. What a team!

Moving on to volleyball, we had some thrilling matches too. Baldwin School faced off against Agnes Irwin in the PAISAA quarterfinals. It was a nail-biting four-set match, with Baldwin ultimately coming out on top. The scores were 26-24, 24-12, 25-27, and 25-19. The star players for Baldwin were Ella Grace and Priya Johnson, who really brought their A-game. Raelyn Zelke also made a big impact with nine kills, and Rowan Pazano showed off her defensive skills with eight digs. What a match!

In another PAISAA quarterfinal, Notre Dame took on Springside Chestnut Hill. And let me tell you, Notre Dame was on fire! Kayla Edginton and Finley Davis were unstoppable, combining for 18 kills and eight blocks. Carolyn Meehan and Maddi Brown also had an incredible defensive performance. The Irish won the match with scores of 25-22, 25-15, and 25-18. They are now on their way to their 10th tournament title. Go Irish!
