ASU Men’s Golf Ends Fall Season with a Win at Cypress Point Match Play

The Arizona State men’s golf team wrapped up its fall season with a bang, securing a match play title at the Cypress Point Classic in Pebble Beach, CA. In a thrilling final against Texas, ASU emerged victorious thanks to a tiebreaker based on most holes won. Despite missing key player Preston Summerhays, who was competing in a PGA event, the Sun Devils showcased their strength with impressive wins from Ryggs Johnston, Nicholas Prieto, and Luke Potter. ASU’s path to the final included victories over Stanford and Tennessee. This win adds to ASU’s impressive record of 184-35-3 in head-to-head stroke play over the past nine tournaments. Cypress Point Club, known for its stunning coastal holes, provided the perfect backdrop for this exciting victory.
