Get Ready for an Exciting Season of East Carolina Basketball at Minges Coliseum

Get ready for an exciting season of East Carolina basketball at Minges Coliseum! The Pirates men’s team will kick off their season on November 6 against Ferrum, while the women’s team will face USC Upstate on November 9. The games will be held at Minges Coliseum, and gates will open 90 minutes before tipoff for men’s games and one hour for women’s games.

This season, there are several new fan enhancements to look forward to. The women’s basketball team will be unveiling their 2023 American Athletic Conference Tournament Championship banner before their home opener against USC Upstate. Make sure to be in your seats by 5:30 p.m. for the presentation and the first 500 fans will receive replica championship banners.

In addition, there will be an in-stadium DJ stationed in the lower level for select men’s and women’s basketball games. This will create a positive experience for all fans in attendance. The DJ will be located at the bottom of section 109.

To enhance the student experience, there will be more reserved seating for students in the lower bowl of Minges Coliseum. Students seated in the lower bowl can expect to find items in their seats such as rally towels, pompoms, and balloons behind each basket. The entire southside lower bowl will be reserved for ECU students only, ensuring that all seats in that section are occupied by students. The ECU Marching Pirates will continue to be located in Section 103, and the overflow student section will be in Section 211.

Student tickets can be picked up online or in person at the Minges Coliseum Box Office starting 90 minutes prior to each game. Students must have a valid ECU 1CARD to receive their free student ticket and be admitted into the arena. Student seating is general admission in the lower level, but once general admission tickets are unavailable, students will be located in reserved seats in Section 211. Students can also purchase guest tickets to be seated with them.

For non-students, adult tickets are $20 for men’s games and $7 for women’s games, while youth tickets (12 & under) are $10 for men’s games and $5 for women’s games. There is no limit to the number of student guest tickets that can be purchased. Cash, American Express, Mastercard, and Visa are accepted forms of payment.

Thanks to generous donors, the northside lower level of Minges Coliseum now features chairback seating. The reserved area includes 422 purple chairback seats, which are sold out for all men’s basketball games and have limited inventory remaining for women’s games.

Charley’s Kids Zone, located on the 2nd level of Minges Coliseum, will be open two hours prior to tipoff. This area is named in honor of Charley Swing and offers a fun experience for kids.

Head Coach Kim McNeill will host four pregame chalk talk sessions this season to discuss the upcoming games with Pirate fans. These sessions will take place in the women’s basketball auxiliary practice gym one hour before tipoff on December 2, December 30, January 20, and February 10.

A new light system has been installed in Minges Coliseum, which includes colored lights for exciting light shows throughout the game. Additionally, concessions at Minges Coliseum will be cashless, accepting only credit cards, debit cards, or mobile payment methods like Apple Pay and Google Pay. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase at select locations inside the arena.

Get ready for an unforgettable season of East Carolina basketball at Minges Coliseum. With new fan enhancements, reserved seating for students, and exciting game experiences, it’s going to be a season to remember!
