The UMass women’s club hockey team had an impressive 5-0 victory over the Davenport Panthers on Friday night. It was a great offensive performance by the Minutewomen, who had 48 shots on goal. After a tough loss to Liberty, UMass mixed up their lines to spark some offense. The first period started strong with a goal from Hannah Gromko just a minute and a half into the game. Maya Shapiro also scored for UMass, and they ended the period with 13 shots on goal. In the second period, Gromko scored again, and UMass continued to dominate with 15 shots on goal. The third period was more physical, with both teams taking penalties, but UMass still managed to extend their lead with goals from Kayla Russ and Danielle Craig. The Minutewomen’s defense was also impressive, holding the Panthers to only 14 shots on goal. UMass is looking to keep the momentum going into their next game against Davenport on November 4th.
