Princeton High field hockey is going head-to-head with Ridge for the North Group IV sectional title. This team has some amazing qualities, but their determination to succeed is definitely their greatest. Their hard work has paid off with a conference division title and a spot in the county final. Now, they’re ready to take on Ridge in the championship game. The game will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. on Princeton’s turf.

Princeton had an intense match against Phillipsburg, which ended in a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory. On the other hand, Ridge dominated top-seeded East Brunswick with a 5-0 win.

The Tigers have proven time and time again that they belong on the field. They never give up and always find a way to stay in the game. Even when they were down 1-0 against Phillipsburg, their determination only grew stronger.

While the team’s attack receives a lot of attention, the Princeton defense has been outstanding. Reva Doshi showcased her skills in controlling the midfield during the match against Phillipsburg. The Tigers’ defense has only allowed 11 goals throughout the season, with just two goals conceded in the state tournament.
Ridge has also been impressive, only conceding one goal in state play.
Princeton’s key players, such as Delaney Keegan, Erin Liggio, Leah Rose Seiden, Mia Ramirez, and Sarah Cate Walker, are determined to add to their goal tally in the final. Ridge’s senior Jenna Narleski, Sana Halthore, and Caroline Pravda will be leading their team’s attack.
The Red Devils last won a sectional title in 2019 and have been a top program for many years, just like Princeton.
Both teams have strong records coming into the game. Ridge has won 12 out of their last 13 matches, while Princeton has won 8 out of their last 9. They’re both playing their best hockey of the season.
