Former Ohio State Players Selected for Hockey Canada Rivalry Series

Two former Ohio State women’s hockey players, Sophie Jaques and Emma Maltais, have been selected to play for Hockey Canada in the upcoming Rivalry Series against the United States. The series will kick off this week with the first game taking place in Arizona on Wednesday, followed by a game in Los Angeles on Saturday. Jaques, a native of Toronto, Ontario, is set to make her debut with the Canadian National Women’s Team. She recently signed a three-year contract with PWHL Boston after being selected 10th overall in the PWHL Draft. Maltais, hailing from Burlington, Ontario, is a two-time world champion and Olympic gold medalist. This will be her third time playing for the national team. Both Jaques and Maltais will be facing off against their former Ohio State teammates, Cayla Barnes and Hannah Bilka, who will be playing for Team USA. The Rivalry Series will consist of games in various locations, including Kitchener, Sarnia, Saskatoon, Regina, and St. Paul, Minnesota. The series will be televised on NHL Network in the United States and TSN and RDS in Canada.
