Eddie Jones is super keen on coaching Japan again, and he’s not hiding it! After leaving the Australian coaching role early, he’s eyeing the Japan job for a second time. He’s been talking about it while leading the Barbarbians invitational team against Wales, and he’s all in for it. He’s on holiday in Japan right now and he’s told the local media that coaching rugby in Japan has always been his passion. He’s still well-respected in Japan after coaching them to a historic victory over South Africa at the 2015 World Cup. Even though he hasn’t received a job offer yet, he’s made it clear that if Japan asks him to coach, he’s definitely interested. He’s also given some advice to Japan’s administrators, saying they need to be courageous and make big changes to avoid sliding backwards. Frans Ludeke, the South African coach of Japan Rugby League One champions Spears Funabashi Tokyo Bay, is also in the running for the national job.
