Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club: Where Tradition Meets Modern Comfort

Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club has a rich history dating back to 1702, making it one of the oldest golf clubs in the world. With over 1,100 members from Europe, Canada, and the US, the club’s popularity continues to grow. To blend ancient traditions with modern amenities, the club recently upgraded its men’s and women’s locker rooms with the help of Fitlockers, a specialist in changing room solutions.

Club manager Mike MacDonald expressed the need to move into the 21st century by replacing the metal lockers that had been in use since 1989. After contacting several suppliers, Fitlockers stood out by responding quickly and creating a design that catered to the members’ needs. The club utilized space previously occupied by the old pro shop to expand the changing provision, resulting in a stylish and functional locker room for both men and women.

The new locker rooms feature golf bag lockers, holdall units, bench seating, noticeboards, and storage areas, all designed with an attractive light oak finish and traditional brass lock and key security. The addition of ventilation holes in the solid oak floors of the golf bag lockers helps reduce condensation, providing a practical benefit for members storing their kit.

In addition to the locker room upgrade, the clubhouse also received a stylish new patio area that can accommodate 30 people. This enhancement adds to the overall appeal of the club, offering members and visitors a comfortable and inviting space to relax and enjoy the stunning coastal views.

The blend of ancient history and modern amenities at Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club creates a unique and welcoming environment for golf enthusiasts from around the world. With its rich heritage and commitment to providing top-notch facilities, the club continues to attract golfers seeking a memorable and enjoyable experience.
